Access Control for Office Buildings
Multitenant Office Tower
The Challenge
A multitenant tower stacks several companies behind one front door. A card reader cannot tell whether the person holding a badge is the person it was issued to, so a lent or lost badge reaches floors it should never open. At 9 am, hundreds of staff and dozens of visitors arrive within minutes, and a slow lobby turns into a queue where tailgating goes unnoticed.
The Approach
JFX aluminum alloy speed gates in the main lobby open in under 0.3 seconds and move more than 50 persons per minute per lane at under 40 dB. Each lane carries a face recognition terminal that matches staff at 99.98% accuracy in 200 to 300 ms, with liveness detection that rejects photos and phone screens. Visitors receive a QR pass, valid for a set time and set floors, that they scan at the same lanes.
The Outcome
Entry is tied to an enrolled face, so badge sharing stops at the lobby. Staff pass without breaking stride, visitors skip the reception queue, and every entry, day or night, lands in one event log the building manager can search by tenant, floor, or hour.

Where Card Based Office Access Falls Short
Shared and Lost Badges
" A card reader checks the card, not the person carrying it. "
Morning Rush Queues
" A slow lobby lane creates the crowd that tailgaters hide in. "
Visitor Check In at Reception
" Issuing temporary badges by hand slows the front desk and leaves no clean record of who left. "
After Hours Blind Spots
" Cleaners, security rounds, and early arrivals often pass doors that log nothing. "
Office Building Access Control Built for Busy Lobbies
Fast, Quiet Speed Gates
" The JFX opens in under 0.3 seconds, passes more than 50 persons per minute per lane, and runs below 40 dB. "
Face Recognition Access Control
" Face recognition terminals match at 99.98% accuracy in 200 to 300 ms, with liveness detection against photos and videos. "
QR Visitor Passes
" The ES QR8 terminal reads face, card, and QR code, so visitor passes limited by time and floor work at the same lanes as staff. "
Works With Your Current System
" Wiegand 26/34, RS485, and TCP/IP connect to most access platforms, and each terminal can run standalone with 50,000 faces stored onboard. "

Frequently Asked Questions
The JF4 and other aluminum alloy speed gates pass 50 persons per minute per lane, and the JFX exceeds that with an opening time under 0.3 seconds. At that rate, one lane clears a 500 person lobby in about 10 minutes. Most towers install two to four lanes so arrivals never stack up at the door.
Yes. Every enrolled person is linked to a tenant and a set of zones. The lobby gate admits anyone with a valid profile, while terminals at lift lobbies or tenant doors open only for that company’s staff. A visitor pass follows the same rules and covers only the floor they are visiting.
In most cases, yes. EASCO face recognition terminals support Wiegand 26/34, RS485, TCP/IP, USB, and WiFi, which covers most office access platforms. For anything outside that list, SDK documentation is available for a custom integration.
The lobby keeps working. Each terminal stores up to 50,000 faces and matches them locally, so staff still pass during an outage. Entry records are saved on the device and sync to the central log once the connection returns.
Data protection duties, such as GDPR in the EU, sit with the building operator, not the hardware brand. EASCO terminals store face templates on the device rather than in a cloud service. Where a policy limits face data, the ES QV8 terminal can use contactless palm vein recognition instead.
Yes. Wide lane speed gates offer a 900 mm (35.4 in) clear passage for wheelchairs, trolleys, and couriers, installed beside standard 600 mm lanes so the whole lobby runs on one system.
